I don’t remember reading the jokes when this came out. That is hilarious. My favorite was the bit about Gruenwald nearly being boss. Has Byrne attacked him post-humously, BTW?
It was good, but didn’t hit *great* untill the Iron Man lyrics.
…Wait, did that ‘Nam joke sneak past the Comics Code? Or was the Eighties late enough that you could mention drugs being taken by non-child-rapists outside of A Very Special issues?
Nostalgia to the face…ow. I’m not sure what tickles me more — breaking the fourth wall, the jokes, or remembering actually using order forms like this.

Truly, this is epic.
I really should get some Sensational She-Hulk issues. Praise Thor that my local has a Valentine’s Day sale.
Man, I was just reading that issue this morning. I love the “Why are you still reading this when you could read the rest ofthe story” bit
Surely John Byrne’s always hilarious, it’s just this is him being intentionally so.

Marvel really needs to do a series of She-Hulk Visionaries: John Byrne trades.
And speaking of Gruenwald, I’d love a Captain America Visionaries: Mark Gruenwald series, and a Quasar Classics series as well.
I always loved the Iron Man lyrics for the Spider-Man cartoon theme.
Ahh.. Saturdaze.. when She-hulk fought Dr Bong. I think I still have that issue somewhere.
I think the two-pages spreads in Nextwave #11 were funnier. But yes, this is a classic.
Great work, funny stuff.
It’s funny, indeed, but is it… Sterankotacular?
When did Storm get transformed into a motorcycle?
I like the bit where Byrne gets shook over Giffen and DeMatteis’ Justice League.

I’d like to see this as part of “The Essential She-Hulk, Volume Two”, myself.
(And I’ve been pushing for “Essential Quasar” for three years now.)
