Too easy.

And Die Hard is an awesome Christmas movie. Also: Scrooged, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Ref, and Gremlins.

Oh I’m glad I’m not the only person whose favorite holiday movie is Die Hard. I just watched it last night, in fact. Alan Rickman is the best.

Tokyo Godfathers is my favorite x-mas movie.

Because nothing says Christmas like lightsabres and midichlorians!

If I found a working lightsaber under the tree it would be, without question, the best Christmas ever!

Why’d you demote the Agent Johnsons to Misters?

Also, Sing-off was surprisingly watchable, and your characterization of Nicole was completely accurate.

TCM has a Sherlock Holmes festival Friday and Saturday; I know Holmes has little pull with the young kids today, but they’re running SCARLET CLAW, in which Holmes comes to Quebec and makes a big speech about how great Canada is,so that’s worth seeing.

Am I the only person who has absolutely no attachment to A Christmas Story at all? I saw it once in 8th grade, after everyone was shocked that I hadn’t seen it yet, and after watching it once, I have no desire to ever see it, or even think about it, ever again.

Re: Star Trek – While you’re right that only V is truly bad, I is still eminently skippable.

And why do the Next Gen flicks get so little love? Sure Nemesis is utter dreck, but First Contact is the third best (behind KHAAAAAN! and NuTrek), and the other two are watchable.

Insurrection is TERRIBLE. Generations is tolerable at best. And First Contact is not the third best Trek film: in addition to Khan and NuTrek, I’d rank Undiscovered Country and Voyage Home ahead of it. Maybe Search for Spock on some days.

Generations was the worst TNG movie. There, I said it.

My brother-in-law (who is the one who got me into Trek in the first place) saw it, and had roughly this conversation:
Me: “That was….not very good.”
Him: “Yeah, but they kinda had to do it, pass the torch and all that.”
Me: “No, they really didn’t. TNG was on the air for 7 goddamn seasons. Half the original cast guest-starred on it. The torch was passed years ago.”
Him: “OK, you’ve got me there.”
Me: “Ergo, this entire film was unnecessary.”

Insurrection was also bad. First Contact was fun, but not perfect- it does rank ahead of UC and VH, though. CERTAINLY SfS.
