Are you sure that isn’t just Flapjacks?
That’s how it starts, you know. First it’s just one tweet. Then, livetweeting the Oscars. Before you know it, you’ll be tweeting all your movements of the bowel kind.
The thing I don’t like about Twitter (okay, the specific thing I’m thinking of this second that I don’t like about Twitter, as opposed to all its other faults) is that it’s a major pain to go back and read, say, a bunch of posts from someone liveblogging an event a week later, especially if that person is a a prolific “Tweeter.” Blogs, you can just hit the proper entry, possibly found using handy tags or a search, and there you go, complete with commentary. I have not yet figured out how to do this on Twitter yet.
Well, maybe we could ask all nice like if he will post his tweet coverage here so we can read it whenever we like without all that hassle.
Pretty please?
Ironically this is the first year I’ve actually watched the awards and you don’t do it on your site.
Would you be willing to compile all the tweets into one post when you’re done? I like to read your liveblogs in one go later, since I never actually follow them in real-time.
Also mc’ed just asked the same thing and I am not very smart.
Nice idea MGK, but I just don’t think it works. On top of ‘week later’ thing people have brought up, I also miss the minute-by-minute time stamps and the more detailed comments of your previous liveblogged stuff.
Oh well, cheers for doing it at all, I guess. See you in 2011.
The best thing about the Oscars is that Sandra Bullock won Best Actress just 24 hours after she won Worst Actress at the Razzies for her work in All About Steve.
And like Halle Berry before her, she was present at the Razzies to accept her award
I agree with the requests to compile the tweets, if you’ve got the time and inclination.
I scanned your feed, and noticed that you had Ajami pegged as one of 2 possible winners for Best Foreign film. Really? Since the Waltz with Bashir upset last year, I’ve given up on an Israeli film ever winning an Oscar. (But at least we got the awesome Japanese acceptance speech out of it.)
…wait. The awesome Japanese “Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto” acceptance speech was for Best Animated Short. I feel cheated again.
Anyway, point is, Israeli films: Oscar-nominated, yes; Oscar-winning, not so much.
