I fucking hate Life is Beautiful. It is the worst movie I have ever seen. I am not exaggerating this. I’ve seen plenty of bad movies, some of which I’ve actually gone out of my way to see and not one of them is as bad as Life is Beautiful. If I died and went to hell and Satan was going to force me to watch one movie for all eternity and said “You can either watch Manos The Hands of Fate or Life is Beautiful.” I would watch Manos.
I always get the feeling that much of the SIL/SPR resentment comes from the fact that RYAN is a Serious Gritty War Picture and SHAKESPEARE is a light romance in a period setting. Because the latter is less worthy.
And Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of my favorite movies of all time.
Hell, he was the only saving grace of the worst Saturday Night Live cast ever. (though I may be biased since I became a fan because of Weird Science which *just* predated SNL)
LurkerWithout . . . Dan is straight, Jordan is gay. Also, they are interesting because Jordan’s a TAR fanboy, and he probably had to convince his brother to join him. With that said? Yeah, I’m rooting for Jet & Cord.
The Saturday Night Live cast with Robert Downey wasn’t bad at all. They just had bad writers that year. He was on with Dennis Miller, Randy Quaid, Anthony Michael Hall (who was also in Weird Science), Jon Lovitz, and JOAN CUSACK!! Not to mention that Damon Wayans made many appearances, even though he wasn’t technically part of the main cast. Compare that to all the cast members of the past decade who’ve spent all their time mugging desperately to the camera, trying to get Hollywood to notice them.
Let’s face it. If they’d had decent writing that year, it would’ve been brilliant.
(Although to be fair, it should be remembered that Downey’s ’85-’85 season also including the excruciatingly annoying Terry Sweeny, who thankfully has not been seen since.)

Ditto on the bad rap for SIL. It’s one of my favourite little flicks — not the deepest Best Picture, but just good stuff.
Re: stormingthecastle.com — I love you.
The question is, what will you put up on those domains in the meantime?
Everyone loves him NOW. How many people loved him pre-Iron Man, but post-drugs? 😛
One of the brothers is straight? I thought their whole thing was both of them being gay. Maybe that was a brother team from the last race?
And yeah, the Bart gets a fake I.D. is easily in the Top 20 episodes for the show…

IMHO, best SNL cast ever was right before Dennis Miller left. But then, everyone’s got their own favorite casts.
“I loved him pre-drugs.”
I’m pretty sure that “pre-drugs” is actually “during drugs.”

Who isn’t rooting for Jet and Cord? Also, more articles relating to Amazing Race please?

It was an ensemble of very talented people, but I can imagine it was hard to write for such specific talents as an ensemble.
