Here Is A Link Friday

You want to go to the library right now and check out “In the Footsteps of Mr. Kurtz”, by Michaela Wrong.

It has only a single chapter about the sapeurs, but that’s fine, because the whole book is awesome. It’s a book about the Congo, all sorts of things about the Congo, wrapped around a spine that’s a biography of the late unlamented Mobutu Sese Seko, dictator of that unfortunate country for thirty-some years.

It’s way way better than this makes it sound. Want to know /why/ those guys exist? Go read this book.
