Andy Dick’s later works is all pretty much horrible, and from all accounts I’ve heard, he’s a fairly horrible person. However, he was also part of one of the best half-hour ensemble sitcoms ever to be on TV, by which I mean, of course, News Radio.
I didn’t say he was the best. 🙂 However, if you watch the first couple of seasons, he actually worked very well in the role. It wasn’t until they took it over the top (most especially after Phil Hartman died) that he really grew to be absolutely terrible. And the Titanic episode, which was a weak point for the entire series, I think. However, there is a brief glimmer of “Wow, I don’t hate Andy Dick right now” that shines through when I watch that show.
The thing about Andy Dick is that when he’s on screen in anything, you can’t forget he’s Andy Dick and focus on his character. The fact that he is Andy Dick: Loathsome Human Being is always at the forefront of your mind when you see him in anything.

Specifically, the worst part.
