Just to get this out of the way with my vote:

Holy hell do I hate Damien (or is it Damian? Even the ballot had him listed both ways) Sandow. Terrible gimmick, terrible worker, terrible promo.

I know Daniel Bryan’s gonna win like everything this year (or possibly Tanahashi if people have seen enough of his work), but I hope Goldust gets some decent attention. Dude has brought it every match since he’s been back.

There is really no other candidate for most improved beyond Goldust. I also put him second in a bunch of the other categories.

Roman Reigns comes to mind almost immediately. He was kind of lousy when he was wrestling as Leakee in FCW in 2012, then he shows up as Reigns on the main roster at the tail end of 2012 and is not half bad, and now after a full year of wrestling with and against basically the best on the roster the change is extremely dramatic. I think he’s Goldust’s main competition for the category.

“Improved” isn’t really right for Goldust, given that he has been, off and on, one of the best workers in the world since the early 90’s. He needed like a “comeback worker of the year” award more than most improved.

Bryan is going to clean house, so I have no problem that I gave best worker to Goldust #1.

I had no idea that people hate Sandow. Also, as a full-on, unbelievable mark for Ziggler, it makes me very sad that Ziggler is even on those “least favorite” and “most overrated” lists. Ziggler is the best worker in WWE! (That’s what I mutter under my breath while I sleep).

Also, his concussions make me so very sad.

I wasn’t the only one who voted for Lawler three times for worst announcer was I?

But I would argue that Goldust has never been as good in any of his previous runs as he is right now (which is kind of mind-boggling, really). He’s always been solid and reliable, but I would peg him as possibly the third best worker overall in the company right now. If Bryan and Punk aren’t wrestling, you can bet cash money that Goldust will be in the best match of the night.

For my money, circa 1994, he was the third best worker in the U.S., just barely behind Vader and Bret Hart.

Wait, Goldust is back and putting on great matches? I might have to watch WWE again.

Could someone explain Matt Hardy’s new gimmick for me?

Just watch these three promos (particularly the first, which is rather brilliant) and you’ll get the idea:

Much Appreciated!

You’re right, this is brilliantly self aware.
