Oh god fuck Anonymous. Classism + snobbery + having no fucking clue what you are fucking talking about = FUCK YOU.
(Seriously, people, Shakespeare’s life is well documented, given how long ago it was. His authorship is also well documented.)

It’s a review of Anonymous done as part of a month of Shakespeare reviews. It’s brilliant.
I think my favorite argument in favor of someone else writing Shakespeare’s plays is the whole “They show too much knowledge of other lands to be written by an ignorant peasant of that era.”
All due respect to Shakespeare’s writing, but his method of depicting other lands tended to be having a character state “Gosh, it sure is Denmarky here in Denmark.”
Adjustment Bureau’s a good one.
As to Anonymous, well, it’s a Roland Emmerich film. Aside from Stargate, the guy specializes in stupid.
Hey, give Roland Emmerich some credit. He’s not just stupidity! He’s also great at throwing teenage boy pool parties with Bryan Singer.
