I’ll give you my first-born child for it.

I’ll give you Michael’s next two born children for it.

(Honestly I visited the site wondering if it’d hit the market; I’ve got a friend excited to see her native realm depicted Sorkinesque, and after the drumming the show took from the New Yorker, she’s more than a little terrified.)

I feel like Sorkin Fans and Whedon Fans each have the same role on the internet. There are hordes of each, but people who aren’t members of the fandom hold them in utter contempt. As a Sorkin junkie (who just re-watched the entirety of The West Wing), it makes me sad.

Yay! Edmonton gets the first draft pick for the third year in a row. That means they’ll be good next year, right? Of course it does.

No, because Edmonton is going to trade its first overall pick to us (Toronto) in exchange for Mike Komisarek, Colby Armstrong, and Jeff D’Amigo! Don’t you read the comments on Toronto sports sites? :-)

I <3 American Ninja Warrior! It is SO much better this year because they're doing six regions instead of just having all of the tryouts in Cali. I just hope they don't do that awful boot-camp "we want to be like survivor" thing that they did the first two years.

My daughter Ellie is totally excited to watch the G4 qualifying rounds on Sundays. She's 4 1/2. It's hilarious.

“THIS…. is Aaa–MERICANNINJAWARRior!”

Saw it last night for the first time, and yes, it is WAY fun.

Though I am hoping that once they whittle it down to about 12 contestants, they all get dropped into some urban nightmare landscape with ninja weapons and are informed that “last one alive wins”.

How do you know there’s no ninjas in Canada? Maybe, they’re the best ninjas in the world, since you’ve never seen them. Maybe they’re there right now…

American Ninja Warrior pales into comparison to Sasuke, shown on G4 as just Ninja Warrior. I mean, when four guys in like 15 years have actually completed the course, and it’s more about the honor of achieving “total victory” than the prize money, you know it’s a better show.

Also, the American announcers are just awful while the Japanese announcers are fantastic.

Weren’t they also saying though that nobody has completed ANW yet despite this being the second/third season? If so, the honour of total victory is still there…

…I am perfectly prepared to believe that Sasuke is the better show, however.

(That one American host is like the bastard child of Chris Meloni and Jay Mohr.)

Also, re: googum, here up North we have Canadian Bushido Champion (or CBC for short). It’s really popular actually, if you read Canadian newspapers they’re always talking about how to make the CBC better, what needs fixing with the CBC, whether the government should be pouring tons of money into the CBC, etc. The reigning CBC is Rick Mercer, known for his rapid-fire putdowns. :-)

YES. THAT’S IT. Though thank god for Jonny Mosely. I can at least tell the two guys apart this year. And Interview Chickie is only mostly annoying…

Seasons 1-3 of ANW they sent the 15 finalists to Japan to participate in the real Sasuke. As always, two or three of them get to the 3rd stage, and fail there.

This year, they’re having waaaaay more people try out (which is good!), but they’re also having the course here in the US in Vegas for the first time (which is… um.).

I partly wonder whether they’ll do the final Vegas course without a time limit, just to see if someone *can* get through all of the bits of it. So I’m reserving judgement on that bit for now, but I’m really liking the first part of the season.

[on in 8 minutes, squeee! I watch on G4…]

Our Canadian ninjas wear toques and mukluks. And nothing else.
