Andrew “G’Kar” Olmsted, intelligent and well-written conservative blogger for Obsidian Wings, died in Iraq yesterday.

Son of a bitch.

Based on what he wrote to be posted in the event of his death, he seems like the sort of guy who I could respect and who would probably treat me with respect regardless of whether or not we agreed on everything (and at the very least, I agree with him that absolute and total anarchy would be a bad thing). That is rare in the current climate, and it makes his death all the more tragic.

Rob, your grasp of him based on the one post was remarkably accurate. Major Olmsted was a class act - a conservative/libertarian who nonetheless was always willing to listen and address other points of view respectfully.
