Funny, I always figured he’d be more of a FORTRAN guy, because of how he likes to see people suffer.

(Well the character, anyway. I’m sure he’s a nice fella.)

I’ve actually met R. Lee Ermey, and I can tell you two things about him:

1.) He’s a really nice guy.
2.) It’s obvious that he really is that tough.

Is that really Dick Armey or just a good impersonator?

Reminds me of Meet The Soldier (which I actually find funnier).

It’s him, the final part of the clip mentions him in the credits.

Adam, Dave, I gotta be a contrarian and say, no, it’s not really him. It’s not really former U.S. Rep. Dick Armey, R-Texas. It’s actually a guy named R. Lee Ermey.

(sorry, we all knew what you meant, please continue)

When did you meet him, MGK? Tell us the story!

Five or six years ago at the Toronto International Film Festival, at a Second Cup (the Canadian version of Starbucks, for those not in the know). He sat down near me with a coffee and a danish, I said “hey aren’t you” and we chatted for four or five minutes.
