Beetle
vs
Volkswagen Beetle
vs
Beatles

Beetle gets a strong 20 000 words, Volkswagen Beetle almost 45 000, but Beatles gets over 70 000 (Blue Beetle only gets 18 000 words).

Potter (38 words)

vs.

Harry Potter (gazillion words over dozens of entries)

…is possibly as one-sided as you’re gonna get.

Of course, to be truly geek, the trick is then to tie the two halves of the wikibomb together.

As an example, In the Stargate Universe, all the refugees from other worlds the Air Force has brought to earth live, for purposes of security… in gated communities.

John Locke (LOST) seems to narrowly edge out John Locke (real life).

I’d love to beat Seinfeld. Most overrated show in the history of television.

I’m a big fan of Schrodinger’s cat vs. Schrodinger’s cat in popular culture.

Brad K – The last time MGK brought this up, he did use the term “wiki groan”
The only entry that I recall, though, was Birds of Prey – the comic versus the class of bird.

Vampire Bat beats Vampire Batman by 90 words (not counting footnotes and references).

Batman Inc. (which has only one issue) beats Division of Batman (Australian House district, established 1906) by a factor of 4.

If you count all the pages on the individule novels, Dresden Files beats out the city of Dresden.

Though I think the city narrowly wins in the contest of which one has been blown up, burned, and shot at more.

Rex the (Motherfucking) Wonder Dog vs. Tyrannosaurus (Rex)

I must say, that is a terrible picture of Rex in the wikipedia entry on him. Someone with a wiki account needs to edit the entry and replace it with the panel where he’s bullfighting or something else suitably awesome.

It’s pretty logical that ‘Seinfeld’ would be longer than an article on “nothing”. In fact, I can’t fathom why it even deserves its own page.

Yeah I always thought this was wikigroaning (but I forget what I thought wikibombing was)

Other fun wiki games: six degrees of hitler! Sort of like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, but instead of random actors and celebrities, you go to random articles on wiki, and then try to get to Hitler the fastest. Fun for the whole family!
