THE IMAGINED SITUATION IS: The BBC has decided to air a one-time four-hour miniseries event of Doctor Who. The miniseries will be entitled “The Eleven Doctors” and feature every single Doctor as the cast, with a number of companions rounding it out.
Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith will play the Eighth through Eleventh Doctors. (Some suggested that at 51 McGann was too old to play his Doctor, but fans argued that he deserved a second chance to play the Eighth Doctor again and really, 51? That’s not a big deal.) However, the remaining living former actors who have played the Doctor all agreed that they should let more age-appropriate actors play the younger incarnations of the earlier Doctors (perhaps with one or two making jokes about “the need for a sonic cane,”) and of course Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell are all long dead.
So:
1.) Who plays each of the first seven Doctors?
2.) Which companion does each Doctor get, if any? (Assume, for marketing purposes, that Amy Pond will be present and accounted for. Possibly Rory as well. And Sarah Jane Smith is a definite, played by Elizabeth Sladen.) Note that some Doctors will have to go without.
3.) Who then should play those companions?
To finish this post, I’ll give my answer for number 1:
First Doctor: Alan Rickman. Really, kind of obvious.
Second Doctor: Richard Coyle (of Coupling and Going Postal, among others). Has “Impish-but-clever-and-wise” down to a T.
Third Doctor: Stephen Fry. Has the sort of combination of comedic aura/gravitas that Jon Pertwee did; age-appropriate; would balance out Rickman as the second of the “older doctors” by being the friendlier one to the First Doctor’s icy, alien cool.
Fourth Doctor: Rowan Atkinson. A bit old for it, maybe, but he’s got the rubberface that the Fourth Doctor demands. Also, it would be fun to see him in an whiteboy Afro.
Fifth Doctor: Andrew Garfield (The Social Network). The Fifth Doctor is trickiest because you need someone young, from the “lost generation” of kids who grew up without a lot of Doctor Who. I considered Tom Hardy initially but Hardy is too buff and rugged to be the Fifth Doctor, who’s slightly unassuming in his looks. Garfield, I think, can pull it off. (And yes, he is British.)
Sixth Doctor: James Nesbitt (Jekyll). If you’re going to redeem the least-favorite Doctor, you need a real charismatic madman to pull it off.
Seventh Doctor: John Oliver (yes, The Daily Show‘s John Oliver). This is my stuntcasting pick, but I think Oliver can do the job.
Your turn.

This game requires more knowledge of British actors than I have. However, I thought I’d post this link to the “Ten Doctors” comic, which I thought was pretty good (It’s 250 pages, though, so heads up). http://comics.shipsinker.com/?id=18
1. Terrence Stamp. Stunt-casting, yes, but the definitive authoritarian.
2. Simon Pegg. Impish? Clever? C’mon now.
3. Colm Meaney. Can play sentimental or ruthless with equal aplomb. (Though if you really wanted to stunt-cast this, slot Michael Caine in here.)
4. Michael Sheen. Dug him in The Damned United. His turn in Tron: Legacy tells me he can play Tom Baker just fine.
5. James McAvoy. If you saw him in the original State of Play, you saw he can play the Plucky Go-Getter just fine.
6. Paul Rhys. You want a charismatic madman? Watch this guy’s turns in Being Human and Luther.
7. Patterson Joseph. I’ve no doubt he can play the Man with A Plan. And really, would it do the franchise any harm to acknowledge that both the world and its’ audience are more diverse now?
Aw, crap, totally forgot about 2 and 3. I’ll come back to that in a bit.
First Doctor: Michael Gambon, because if A Chrismas Carol taught us anything its that Gambon can play a crotchity old man.
Second Doctor: Richard Coyle, because I can see him as a young Patrick Troughton.
Third Doctor: Michael Cane, because other then being needing to switch being funny and serious the Third Doctor needs to know how to throw a punch.
Fourth Doctor:
Fifth Doctor: Andrew Garfield, I know nothing about his acting skill, but given the images of him I can find I think he looks a bit like a young Peter Davison.
Sixth Doctor: James Nesbitt, I heard good things about Jekyll and if he was good enough for Moffatt then he’s good enough for me.
Seventh Doctor: Dominic Monaghan, who I think can give the Seventh Doctor the impish charm McCoy had and he’s apparently very good with accents (
Damn. It. Grrrr, fucking small ass keyboard. Where was I?
Seventh Doctor: I would rather cast an actual Scott as the Seventh Doctor, but I perfer Monaghan
Why not Billy Boyd? Because when Monaghan smiles I see something beyond the smile, when Boyd smiles all I see is a smile.
I’m not going to give actors for the companions because I’ve got a life (ha ha) to live and can’t be doing this all day.
First: Steven Taylor
Second: Jamie McCrimmon
Third: Sara Jane and the Brigader (Its been way to fucking long since Nicholas Courtney has been on the show. Yes, the original Brig. If Liz is still Sara then the Brig is still Nick.)
Forth: K9, Romana 2
Fifth: Nyssa and Teegan
Sixth: Mel, but maybe no campanion for the Sixth
Seventh: Again no companion might be better, otherwise Ace and Hex (from the Big Finish audios)
Eighth: Fitz and Anji
Ninth: Rose and Jack (though I’m half tempted to say Adam simply because I don’t buy the one mistake Adam made in The Long Game got him expelled)
Tenth: Martha, maybe Rose and Mickey (for the “Uh-oh, Rose can’t meet herself” dilemma and because Mickey should have got more time in the TARDIS
Eleventh: Amy AND Rory, because I think Roy is fucking great. I want more of the Doctor being bros with another guy.
And I completly forgot about the Fourth. While I know that Atkinson can do the part I just can’t take him in the long scarf seriously. That being said there are so few people that can pull off that manic energy and physicality, from lost in the clouds aloofness to savage intensity, even actors who played the Doctor after Baker like Tennent and Smith come close to that, but don’t truly hold a candle to him. In the end I would have to say Patrick Stewart may just have the chops to pull this off. He can be very funny and silly when given the opertunity (Extras) and has made a career of being intense (Star Trek: TNG Hamlet). And I can see him in the floppy fedora and scarf and still take him seriously.
John Sessions should be one of them.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0785938/
[…] of MightyGodKing, a little thought […]
Sessions impersonating Rickman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc3OyvbJkj4
Another suggestion: Eddie Izzard?
In the end I would have to say Patrick Stewart may just have the chops to pull this off.
Stewart is seventy. I love Picard/Mr. Sexy Cakes as much as anybody, but he’s way, way too old to play the Fourth Doctor, who was in his early forties.
I think Jamie Oliver would make an excellent Doctor!
Random thought: how about Bill Nighy as the First Doctor?
1. Hugh Laurie: (The) Doctor House.
2. I’l second both the suggestion of Richard Coyle here and the reason given.
3. Sean Pertwee, because he looks and sounds like his dad, and because of that I would dearly love to see him play the role.
4. Russell Brand. Between the roels I’ve seen him play and the Fresh Air interview with him that I heard awhile back, I think he could handle the balance of genius and madness that was Four. Plus, it’d be cool to see him in the coat and scarf.
5. The only actor I could see filling Peter Davison’s shoes is Alan Cumming.
6. I would dearly love to see Tim Roth play Six.
7. Scottish, master planner, walks the side of light because it’s the only way to avoid letting his evil side gain control? I think Ewan McGregor could do a hell of a job in the part.
As for the Companions, I’d want the following:
1. Susan (have them become involved just before they arrive on Earth).
2. Jamie McCrimmon.
3. Sgt. Benton (played by Kevin McKidd, not just because of the Dog Soldiers and Trainspotting connections, but Journeyman as well).
4. Romana 2.
5. Turlough.
6. Peri.
7. Gotta go with Ace on this one.
1St David Troughton
2nd Timothy Spall
3rd Jason Isaacs
4th Benedict Cumberbatch (he’ll never be twelfth)
5th Rupert Penry-Jones
6th Tom Hollander
7th Douglas Henshall
I think Matt’s going to be around for quite a while. Whoever Mark Gatiss or Gary Russell decides to choose it’ll have to be someone completely different again. Smith and Cumberbatch’s gene pool is too close together. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do repeat the 4th/5th axis and install someone like Rupert Penry-Jones
Robert Sheehan should be there somewhere. Maybe too young to play a doctor, but at least a companion.
I know he dressed up as the fourth Doctor on SNL, but how about Sir Ian McKellen as the First Doctor? It seems obvious to me, though I don’t fantasy-cast that often and I might not be good at it.
Well, crap, I just lost my big comment.
Short comment: First, Third, and Sixth can stay because I think you’ve got a good handle on 1 and 3 and I don’t remember 6 at all so why not?
2nd: Pegg works. Colin Hanks, if you can age him, would be interesting!
4th: Diedrich Bader. Not because it would be good, but because it would be hilariously bad. You should probably not take this advice.
5th: Jesse Spencer. He’s got the look down, and he can totally play the role opposite scenery-chewers like Rickman, Fry, and Sheppard. Sheppard who? Why…
7th: Mark Sheppard. No, really. Dooo eeeeet.
Companions: Don’t care, beyond that Catherine Tate should play Rose Tyler and she should die in the first ten seconds of the episode, preferably by exploding. Twice.
I have had an epiphany: Both Billy Connelly and Patrick Warburton must be simultaneously cast as the false Doctor from “The Next Doctor”. They should swap out continuously mid-scene and nobody except the Second, Seventh, and Eleventh doctors are allowed to notice.
I don’t know actors well enough to give good picks, but I’ll say I’d watch the fuck out of this.
But, who would play the Valeyard?
Prodigal: thank you! I was scanning the comments to see if anyone else mentioned Sean Pertwee before I barged in with my “There is nobody who should play the Third Doctor except for Sean Pertwee.”
Find some clips of him acting in the first four episodes of the Brother Cadfael mystery adaptations. For my money, that’s where you’ll see him sound the most like his Dad. I think that he sometimes takes roles where he looks and sounds a great deal UNlike his father (his recent guest turn on “Luther” being a good example), but when he turns on the voice, the resemblance is uncanny. The facial resemblance is only more pronounced now that he’s aged.
Seeing him play the Doctor is a long-standing dream of mine. (The Third Doctor is really also one of my top favorites.)
Respectfully, however, I must disagree about Alan Cumming as the Fifth Doctor. Indeed, I think he’d make a much better Fourth Doctor than Fifth.
Funny, I don’t have as strong opinions about the others. I hear a lot of good suggestions here or else I’m not familiar enough with the suggestions to say, but this is making me want to go find clips of them.
The only person I could accept as a good Doctor #3 (Jon Pertwee) is SEAN Pertwee.
I always imagined a scenario, where the threat to the 11 Doctors, is going and progressively killing them one by one, by aging them to death, so all of the living Doctors, could play their roles, with a reason in the story to explain their age. So really i’d only need to cast the first 3, if you were to have “new” recorded footage of them, before they “died” of old age.
That’d be:
1: Bill Nighy
2: Simon Pegg
3: is obvious, Sean Pertwee!
Then show bits of all the other doctors meeting, in various sickly states, and have them all croak one by one, until the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Doctor stop the threat once and for all, and correct the time stream, effectively resetting the whole thing, so that this “never happened”. As if preserving Doctor Who continuity was ever really that important.
What? No one wants to see Taylor Lautner as Adric?
Hmmm. Lots of good suggestions here, but I’m inclined both to cherry-pick and to rearrange many of these.
1st Doctor: Patrick Stewart
Susan: Sarah Sutton
I agree that Stewart belongs in here somewhere; my inclination is to give him the First Doctor because he has both the gravitas and the ability to wink at the audience that the First Doctor needs. My inclination is then to pair him with an older Susan, and I think Sutton (originally Nyssa in Davison’s era) would work well in that part.
2nd Doctor: Craig Ferguson
Zoe: Katie McGrath
How can one not like Ferguson — Scottish, dark-haired, and just the right kind of strange — for this part? McGrath I draw from Merlin.
3rd Doctor: Sean Pertwee
The Brigadier: Nicholas Courtney
Here I bow to tradition and the gallery; Sean Pertwee is the clear legacy choice, and Courtney as the Brig cannot be omitted.
4th Doctor: Hugh Laurie
K9: Himself (voice by John Leeson)
Leela: ?
I haven’t seen some of the other choices given here in action; I pick Laurie as being someone I have seen, and who seems to me to have the best shot at managing both the charm and out-of-left-field brilliance of #4. I pick Leela as his companion because I think her character makes a more distinctive foil in such a large cast, but I have no idea who I’d cast in the part. (If we could just de-age Catherine Zeta-Jones a decade or two….)
5th Doctor: Bradley James
Nyssa of Traken: Molly Quinn
James (another Merlin borrowing) is one of the few British actors I know of the right general age and look. For Nyssa, I go way out in left field and pull Molly Quinn from Castle, because I very much like her work there and she’s about the right age for original-period Nyssa.
6th Doctor: Colm Meaney
Peri Brown: Allison Mack
I like the suggestion of Meaney from upstream, but I’d give him Six instead of Three. For one thing, I think there’s some resemblance; for another, I think he’d do well in the part. As for Peri, here I cast a North American actress for an American character; Mack (from Smallville strikes me as someone who’d have had just the right chops for Peri’s signature confrontation with the Master in her debut.
7th Doctor: Ewan McGregor
(no companion)
Here I go with Prodigal’s choice, and am inclined to let him fly solo.
One other note:
Alan Rickman should definitely appear in this — but not as a Dcotor. For a project like this, you need an epic villain, and for an epic villain, you can’t possibly go wrong with Rickman as the Master.
The seventh Doctor has to be with Ace, but I haven’t a clue who should play her.
I could kick myself for not thinking of Bill Nighy. I now can’t picture anybody else as One.
I did this a whle ago…
Sir Derek Jacobi
David Thewlis
David Warner
I’m open to suggestions…
James McAvoy
Hugh Bonneville
Simon Pegg
With Alan Rickman and John Simm as the Master, Felicity Jones as Susan, Holly Grainger as Jo, Domhnall Gleeson as Turlough, Katy Perry as Peri and Hannah Spearritt as Ace.
Damn, that is a good list, I can’t think of a better one aside from a few substitutions…
2: Patton Oswalt, smart, funny, a little dowdy and just a little smarmy
4: Hugh Laurie, because I trust his chops enough to pull off the most recognizable oldschool doctor, and frankly watching him and Fry riff off each other now is amazing. Also, “I’m not the doctor, but I play one on TV.”
6: Eddie Izzard, because fuckall, it’d be hilarious.
I’m not really familiar with this show, but as I understand it, its some sort of British version of Power Rangers, essentially?
For number 7, I’d say go with Sylvester McCoy. His Doctor was older, and he really hasn’t aged so badly.
For number 6, Colin Baker really has aged out of the role. Colm Meaney is not much younger, but looks the part, and I’m not familiar enough with all the little rugrat actors of the right age to pick someone. But Colin Baker would need a role… Peri’s disapproving uncle who has somehow gotten dragged along and does not like number 6. And Frobisher should be Doc 6’s companion.
For number 5, I really don’t want to see anyone other than Peter Davidson. He was great in the little Something Something Children skit where he met number 10, despite being a bit older and a bit rounder. It takes a special man to pull off wearing a vegetable on his lapel, and I think you’ll be hard pressed to find someone else who can do it. Toss in some technobabble to explain the age… Blah blah blah temporal stabilizer.
For number 4, replacing one of the most iconic actors simply requires stunt casting. No one is going to do a good job attempting to be Tom Baker’s Doctor 4. And find a spot for Tom Baker.
Number 3, Sean Pertwee.
Number 2, no clue.
Number 1, Patrick Stewart could do it, but I grow weary of him.
And, bring back Derek Jacobi as the Master.
I think the One True Casting for this situation must be Eddie Murphy with an arsenal of cosmetic prosthetics.
We joke about this happening, but the 50th Anniversary is close enough that Steven Moffat has publically speculated about both himself and Matt Smith sticking around for it.
And you know they’ll have to do SOMETHING big for the occasion…
Oh, and here’s yer #4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q88kt_Vtyl4
I haven’t got time to think it out now, but hey, David Troughton as number 2. Spittin’ image of his dad, and a fine actor to boot.
[troll]Michael Cera for all of them. [/troll]
I’m gonna have to hurt you. If Sarah Jane can be played by the original actress, then Davidson can easily return as Five.
Of the companions to bring back:
One: Polly and Ben
Two: Jamie and Zoe
Three: Sarah Jane
Four: Romana (hidden among the E-Space Tharils) and K9
Five: Nyssa
Six: gotta admit, someone earlier suggested no Companion for Six, which kinda makes sense. If it had to be, Mel (no screaming!)
Seven: Ace. Accept no substitutes
Eight: Destrii (from the comic strip: an alien Companion would be fun)
Nine: Rose and Jack
Ten: interesting bit here, also make him Companionless, to cover the period during the final movies where he bounced about
Eleven: Amy and Rory
Did you ask about what plot to toss out there? I’d suggest the Eternals from “Enlightenment” and been mentioned having fled the universe during the Time War making a comeback… with the guidance of Omega, who from the anti-matter universe survived the Time War and is seeking to rebirth the Time Lord empire and complete his revenge against the time-trapped Rassilon…
So this is off topic.
But how awesome would Idris Elba be as the 12th Doctor?
Fun!
I decided to set myself a couple of limitations to make it ‘believable’. In other words, I had to buy that the cast was doable in terms of money that the BBC could swing at it (if I can have Sir Anthony Hopkins, Liam Neeson, Brian Cox, David Bowie, Hugh Laurie, Tom Wilkinson, or, Simon Pegg I may as well be allowed to cast Patrick McGoohan or Orson Welles or Helen bloody Mirren.). (And while we’re at it, let’s have it directed by Christopher Nolan.)
Also, every Doctor had to be from the UK (Scottish, British, Welsh, or Irish, didn’t matter) and that the most expensive, star part HAD to be the First Doctor because he has to have a sense of gravitas. He can’t be ‘just another Doctor’, he has to dominate the other ten, which means a big star part. And not just any star, but a star that kids today would RECOGNIZE. I also decided that I couldn’t use anyone who has been in DOCTOR WHO so far (so no Derek Jecobi, Michael Gambon, Anthony Stewart Head, Bill Nighy, Timothy Dalton, etc)
The First Doctor – SIR IAN McKELLAN (he’s Gandalf. Kids will bloody love him. And he did several episodes of – I kid you not – CORONATION STREET – he would totally do this show)
The Second Doctor – DAVID BAMBER (from ROME)
The Third Doctor – CHRIS BARRIE
The Fourth Doctor – STEVE COOGAN
The Fifth Doctor – PETER SERAFINOWICZ
The Sixth Doctor – PETER WOODWARD
The Seventh Doctor – ROWAN ATKINSON (he was only in a comic relief special so if it counts, it only counts as an audition. McCoy was doing a Blackadder impersonation throughout his tenure)
But then I thought, “Dammit MGK, if you’re gonna have all eleven doctors you may as well have all six Masters!” In which case, I’d say you’d keep the last three Masters (Roberts, Jacobi, and, Simm) and recast the first three. And I felt the first Master, again, had to be the one you spent the real money on and someone whom the kids would recognise (so not Ian McShane sadly)…
The First Master – ALAN RICKMAN (it’s Snape!)
The Second Master – KARL JOHNSON (also from ROME and HOT FUZZ and I think this Master should look have the oldest actor playing him)
The Third Master – DERREN BROWN (it is the only choice)
And then I thought, “Well, wouldn’t it be cool if at the end of all this, it introduces us to the Seventh Master who will torment Matt Smith for a few years” and I thought it would, so I decided on;
The Seventh Master – BEN CHAPLIN
Up until now, ever Master has been a contemporary of the Doctor. I like the idea of the seventh Master being older than Matt Smith, more charming and handsome, and basically, if you had to pick on first sight, you’d assume Chaplin was the ‘good guy’, but of course he isn’t. He’d command more respect than Smith’s Doctor and I bet you could get Chaplin to do it.
And let’s face it; while Benedict Cumberpatch being the Master is more appropriate than him being the twelfth Doctor, it’s far too cutesy.
Alas, Richard Harris could have been a fine First Doctor.
One: William Russell (Ian from the original series) with Bonnie Wright as Susan
Two: Kenneth Branaugh, with David Troughton as The Brigadier
Three: Sean Pertwee, with Lis Sladen as Sarah Jane
Four: Benedict Cumberpatch, with Kiera Knightly as Leela
Five: Jude Law, with Isla Fisher as Teegan
Six: Martin Freeman, with Zooey Deschanel as Peri (An actual American!) in a HHGTTG movie reunion
Seven: Sylvester McCoy, with Sophie Aldred as Ace (Why mess with perfection?)
Must have Sean Pertwee
Nesbitt can be The Master
And put Colin Salmon in there somewhere, because why not?
And, bring back Derek Jacobi as the Master
Seconded. When he was portraying “Doctor Yana”, he was impersonating Delgado’s “affable” mode so well that I felt stupid for not figuring it out.
Companions-wise, I would cheat and pluck the Tenth Doctor from just after “The Doctor’s Daughter,” bringing Martha and Donna with him. I mean, why choose?
John C. Bunnell . . . while Allison Mack does have the *ahem* endowments that Peri had, I don’t think there was a time when she was on Smallville where I wanted to slap her hard.
To me, the only way that this much re-casting could work would be if “unknown” actors were used, but that pretty much spoils the game. I’m also completely unconvinced that roughly twenty characters could fit into a four hour story, especially when half of them are the protagonist.
So, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to take your production budget and spend it on an epic Donna Noble/Amelia Pond team-up, instead.
I’m not a big Doctor Who fan (more for just lack of watching than any real issues with the show), so I’m afraid I can’t make a coherent list…but I just wanted to chime in with my support for Colm Meaney as one of the Doctors, since he’s a fine actor.
Actually, what could be fun is the return on Jenny, played, as you recall, by Peter Davison’s daughter, with Sean Pertwee and Sam Troughton as her companions.
Incidentally, Peter Davison played the 5th Doctor again just three years ago (though there was a bit of handwaving to explain the change in age). You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szuP0oBZX4g.
I’m not a Doctor Who fan, but I think all of the mentioned actors need to appear in a British version of Cannonball Run.
(Yeah yeah, like you wouldn’t watch it.)
1: Bill Nighy. Has to be someone old, cold, and detached, but who can actually be sympathetic.
2: James Nesbitt. Everyone always forgets that the Second Doctor could be very dark when he wanted to be, and Nesbitt has the right facial features and roughly the right hair.
3: Sean Pertwee. Because sure, why not!
4: Hugh Laurie. In “manic” mode, not “crochety” mode. Be a bit of a breath of fresh air after doing ‘House’ for umpty-bump years.
5: Ewan McGregor. Yes, I know, he’s a much bigger star than everyone else. But a charming, sweet-faced Brit who has the kind of range and talent that Davison did? Ewan’s the only one I can think of. (Let’s face it, of the original series, Davison was the best pure actor.)
6: Benedict Cumberbatch. Go watch him in ‘Sherlock’ and tell me he can’t play “asshole that makes you cheer for him being an asshole”. 🙂
7: Richard Coyle. Yes, he’s Welsh, not Scottish. He’s still funny as hell, and just like people forget the Second Doctor was dark, they forget the Seventh was goofy.
1st — Gambon
2nd — Spall
3rd — Nighy! though of course Sean Pertwee would be excellent.
4th — Brand (If he can change his accent and lose the beard)
5th — MacGregor
6th — Colin Firth
7th — no opinion. James MacEvoy?
And of course I would watch any version of this…
ALSO — “Taylor Lautner as Adric” FTW
R-Pats as Turlough?
For companions, I went with what for me are no-brainers.
One would have to have Susan. Preferably Ian and Barbara as well, but Susan for sure.
Two, I’d go for Jamie and Zoe, pre-“War Games.”
Three, Jo Grant or perhaps a cameo for Liz Shaw
Four, I agree that Liz Sladen has to be there
Five, Tegan!
Six…can we have one from the audioplays?
Seven, Ace!
I want to address the villain part first because I need to think about the casting of the first 7 a bit more, now my idea may be unpitchable ( and belong in that post) but after rewatching the Netflixable stuff in the runup to Xmas Carol, what about making Jack from 9 and Torchwood the villain. Hear me out it works both as one of those “parallels” Who writers love (2 different approaches to immorality), there would be certain level of natural antipathy between the first 8 and the Captain and most importantly it’d work really, really, well with a first episode feint in which everyone believes the master is to blame. The only sticky part is motive but set the adventure on an Earth equivalent 1000 years in the future and it gets much easier to invision, simply have events like Children of Earth(IMO overly dark but from a sheer quality perspective the best Who related production) keep happening to the point where perpetual sacrifice becomes intolerable and active “management” of the time stream is smart.
1st Doctor: David Warner. Obvious.
John and/or MGK: You might want to bring this post back . . . rumors are circulating about an “Eleven Doctors” special.
