The “I’m Scottish ?” segment was funny.
The bit with the 11th Doctor was lip-trembly.
“I do not expect to reach the promised land” established a lot about #12/13’s character I thought.
Do not mistake “it wasn’t *precisely* what I wanted” for “it wasn’t any good”. That way lies disappointment.
Still puzzling over why Clara ever attempted her “hold your breath” escape, when she had a magic button that could summon Lady Varga, Jenny, & Strax at any moment.
I thought they went a bit far (and were maybe even a bit insulting) with using Clara as a metaphoric stand-in for the audience, in the whole “you should still like the Doctor even if he can’t pretend to be your young boyfriend” bit. But then again, it was about half way through the broomstick speech before I figured out that the villain of the week was a metaphoric stand-in for the Doctor (which is particularly dull of me, since at least half of all the villains are stand-ins for the Doctor). So clearly my meta-meter is off.
