My weekly TV column is up at Torontoist.
Cagney in White Heat: hell of a great role, and a great film.
Glee should be cast back into the seventh circle of hell from where it came. Along with The Bachelor.
How’d you like a screen capture of an argument with Penn Jillette on facebook I had ,in which I handed him his own libertarian values on a platter and made him choke on them to the point where he had to delete his comments?
Yay, waitrons! I miss waitrons. Glad somebody else out there remembers them…
GREETINGS PATRON! I AM YOUR WAITRON FOR THIS FOOD CONSUMPTION PERIOD! TONIGHT’S SPECIAL IS VEAL, HOWEVER THE SEAFOOD PASTA IS!! THE!! SUPERIOR!!! ENTREE!!!!!
Oh, and William, I disagree. I think Glee should be cast back into the seventh circle of Hell from WHENCE it came. For my taste, when you’re casting stuff back to Hell, you gotta break out the “whence”. But that’s me.
Zen Rage, even if MGK does not, the rest of the world needs to see it.
Background: My wife watches, and I’m in the room reading. I’m in no way a fan. I still marvel at the total non-mention of the fact that their club is called ‘the Nude Erections’ (‘New Directions’). Either someone’s very subtle, very oblivious, or 12.
Anyway, I have a begrudging exception to the “Glee inconsistent characterization” statement: Burt Hummel. He doesn’t show up a whole lot, but when he does, he’s always hitting exactly the right notes (unlike the rest of those autotuned hosers) as ‘working-hard-at-it supportive parent of a GLBT kid’. Admittedly, taken as a whole he just seems like someone working out their daddy issues by writing the Best Dad Ever, but I can live with that.
Title should be “Power of one million EXPLODING Biebers”
