To avoid running this into the ground, Friday Youtubery in May is going to start with a new show. That having been said, I’ve had all seven seasons of The West Wing playing in the background as I’ve studied for my exams, and I think I’m gonna write a few critical essays in the next few weeks.

That’s kind of funny, because I have also been watching the West Wing saga on DVD as I prepare for my law school exams. It’s a kind of positive reinforcement because I’ve always kind of wanted to be Toby and law school seems like the best way to get there. I have never been much of a multitasker, so I integrate episodes into my study routine by using each 40 minute increment as a breather between taking old exams.
I watched the show religiously when it first aired for seasons 1-3, caught bits and pieces of season 4 but lost track after that. I’ve only recently made it to season six and it seems like they had some trouble attaining the former glory of those halcyon days of early Sorkin. Too many new characters get introduced and disappear for my tastes. It also makes no sense to me that Toby would take over CJ’s job (although her taking over Leo’s was kind of awesome).
Anyway, looking forward to what you have to say.
RIP John Spencer. That guy was awesome.
I have not watched much West Wing. I really should. I like the rest of Sorkin’s work that I’ve seen.
Damn you sir. I think I’ve caught the West Wing bug. Now I have to get the DVDs.
So the new show — either Sports Night or Sledge Hammer! Am I right, or am I right?
I think it would take a period of at least 130 weeks to run Friday West Wing into the ground.
