I dunno, Castle may have the advantage of being generic enough for the network to be comfortable with it. I mean, Fillion was previously in an ambitious serial about a cross-country car race (albeit one that cut costs by just using the same section of highway over and over), and an outer space western. Generic wunza-cop mystery caper might be more America’s speed.
