Lovely, but I must protest Joe’s assignment as Lawful. This is dude who sabotaged an elevator so that he could “save” the occupants, which was the only way he could pass an electrician’s test. “My answer is: This question is stupid.”
I wondered about Catherine, too, at first, but I don’t think she was ever particularly motivated by societal rules (unlike Lisa), and she seemed to be basically acting in her own interest the majority of the time, so I actually think NE is a good fit for her. Probably the best example of that, for me, is the whole Big Bonus/Shaft episode. Also, apparently I’m a much bigger News Radio nerd than I realized. π
While I don’t especially agree or disagree with the placement of the characters, I can sort of imagine the thought process that would lead to this — first, you accept that Dave/Bill and Lisa/Jimmy are opposites, and then sticking them in the corners with Matthew in the middle suggests…
…well, actually, I’d have put Beth in the middle at that point. So, never mind.
I would swap Joe and Matthew. Matthew is grossly ineffective, but certainly lawful, and Joe sabotages elevators, cheats at cards, and loves Boba Fett.
Actually, push Joe all the way over to Chaotic Neutral, move Matthew to Lawful Neutral, put Milos as True Neutral, and pretend Season 5 never happened.

I really can’t see Beth as anything left of Chaotic. Good is debatable, but her whole MO was doing stuff just to mess with people.

Also, Joe was a low level anti-establishment paranoid. A dedication to the social order wasn’t really something I saw as high on his priorities.
I don’t know about Catherine at NE. Maybe Johnny Johnson instead…
God, I miss News Radio.

On that note: Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor! DAMN!
You need look no further for Catherine’s evil core than the final show, where she managed to get Bill and Joe naked in her apartment for a laugh.
HER final show, I mean.

Maybe he WAS Chaotic Evil, but I still miss him/
Just wanted to say your Alignment Chart Week inspired me to do my own for The Office: http://cleverturnofphrase.tumblr.com/post/2156381375/officealignments
Looking forward to more of these!
Did you place Matthew in True Neutral because there wasn’t a slot called Chaotic Pathetic?
@Zenrage
Now I want to see an alignment called Chaotic Spaz.

Joe is perfectly loyal to the social order that exists only inside his head. That’s enough to make him Lawful.

I think I’d flip Jimmy and Beth. But I’d say it’s pretty solid.
And Season 5 ranks up there with the Highlander Sequels in the area of Things That Never Happened And We Will Not Believe Otherwise So There. π
Yeah, I miss Newsradio too…
Do a chart for Bladerunner? Hmm, it’s not a TV show. But there’s some nice quotes…
A chart for Chuck would be cool.
Ellie and Awesome: Lawful Good
Chuck and Morgan: Neutral Good
Chuck’s Dad: Chaotic Good
Casey/General Beckman: Lawful Neutral
Sarah: True Neutral
Jeffster: Chaotic Neutral
Emmett: Lawful Evil
Chuck’s Mother: Neutral Evil
Volkov/Tuttle: Chaotic Evil
Argue amongst yourselves…
One word: Futurama. That is all.
I miss Phil Hartman. π
LOL.
For the Bill quote.
> Joe is perfectly loyal to the social order that exists only inside his head. Thatβs enough to make him Lawful.
Joe was also a strict stickler for the electrical workers’ union regulations. That’s more law than most of the crew followed.
