I agree wholeheartedly that Happy Endings is a fun half-hour of your time; a fun hour when they put them back-to-back. I don’t pay attention to ratings enough to know if anyone measurable is watching it, though.
Agreed on Special Agent? Philip’s strategy. I think that he’s betting on being in a Final 3 with Rob, and he figures nobody would vote for the perennial player. The other idea is that he really is a psycho, and tha he’s been playing for a $50,000 payday this whole time.
Redemption Island is a mess. If Rob wins, there aren’t enough asterisks to put on him because this is his fourth try and he’s surrounded by idiots. If he doesn’t win, whomever gets the $1 million will be somebody that you’ll forget about inside of three months, and about as worthy of the win as Natalie and Jud/Fabio. And while Redemption Island was a good idea, its use beyond the merge has been ill-advised. Did you know that eight players will still be in the game by Sunday’s finale?
Any thoughts on the finale of The Amazing Race, MGK? Truth be told I was disappointed in Kisha & Jen winning, but given the first “all-star” season the show had, it could’ve been so much worse.
I’m a total fan of Norm McDonald, and I want to enjoy his new show, but I find the audience distractingly annoying.
Laughing comedy audience expressing their enjoyment through honest, involuntary “ha-has” (or similar): just fine with me.
Comedy audience full of fucking goofs going “woooo!” at goddamn everything: makes me see red and unable to enjoy things.
If hes actually telling the truth about his behavior being a stratagem, then he’s making the same mistake that Russell always makes. He thinks that people will respect a strategy that takes him to the final vote enough to overcome their animosity. That plan totally ignores the social component of the game.

Her name is Eliza Coupe, MGK.
MGK, I’m disappointed. You talk about Empire Records and never once mention that Liv Tyler appears in it wearing very little clothing?

Cuthbert is gorgeous, but I’m falling in love with Casey Wilson myself. She’s adorable.

I like when the topic bounces around like this. For example it’s fun to read Ambrael’s comment as though it’s talking about Norm MacDonald.
