I’m willing to forgive ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ for moving films toward monochromacity. According to a folk music show I listen to on the CBC, its soundtrack revived interest in that genre, which balances things out nicely.
Of course, the extent to which that one film caused either of those things is probably up for much debate.
