I’m a long way away from being an expert on German philosophers/writers, but that American Ninja Warrior situation sounds more Kafkaesque than Nietzschean.
I have to go with Nietzschean, as it is a hopeless contest that will only result in crushed American ninja spirits. Maybe if they added trained crocodiles providing defense, it could bump over into Kafkaesque territory.
The prize in ANW isn’t to go to Japan. It’s for a buttload of money that nobody will win because the course can’t be completed. It’s still fun to see Americans try, though.
I caught some of Wizard Wars show in the hospital last night, and…yeah, it’s pretty entertaining. Of the two acts competing that I saw, even the losing one was entertaining to watch and clearly competent in their skills, rather than stumbling around and going “I don’t need to make friends to make magic!”
I can see not wanting to “pimp” a show sight unseen, but to count “pimping” as “so much as mentioning that it’s even on” among a list of the week’s upcoming highlights?
Come on.
I admit I’m not hugely enthusiastic about the new season, as I haven’t much enjoyed the previous couple, but not even mentioning it does seem a little extreme.
Yeah, let’s be honest: if you weren’t already very, very aware of when and where the new Doctor Who is coming out, this would not be the point to jump on.

Why should he have to mention it? Everybody already knows it’s on!

Don’t keep us in suspense, MGK . . . what did you think of “Deep Breath”?
Wait, you can’t watch it on the BBC America site? I guess I’ll see it in 2+ years when it shows up on Netflix
Hey mgk, I saw a recent reddit thread on “how would you write the series finale of the Simpsons.” I am curious as to what you would write!
